Yanagisawa Saxophone Necks

The neck of a saxophone is the area that is most sensitive to changes in weight. While Yanagisawa offers many different cosmetic options (gold plate, engraving, etc...) we stock primarily only options that will make a playing difference in the horn.

Of their necks, we feel that the Yanagisawa Bronze and Solid Silver necks offer the customer the best performance value.

Both Bronze and Solid Silver add a darker tone to any Yanagisawa 901 or 991 model saxophone. They are also compatible with older model Yanagisawas such as the 900/990 and 800/880 series.

Bronze!
Bronze offers the best "bang for the buck" when it comes to Yanagisawa necks. They are relatively inexpensive and produce a very rich and warm tone. Especially noticeable when put on to the lighter weight 901 series alto or tenor.

Sterling Silver!
Solid Sterling Silver contains 92.5% pure silver. The benefit to silver is that it adds warmth & presence to the tone of the horn without sacrificing any responsiveness to the horn. These necks are however much more expensive than the standard brass or bronze necks. However, for the player who is only concerned about performance, the Sterling Silver Necks are absolutely amazing!

A95 - Sterling Alto Neck: $750.00
T95 - Sterling Tenor Neck: $850.00

Yanagisawa also offers the following models:

#100: Brass neck, 24K Gold Plated
#192: Bronze neck, 24K Gold Plated
#195: Sterling Silver neck, 24K Gold Plated

While we can order in these various models, we feel that there is no real performance change by going to the 24K gold plate and therefore find it difficult to justify the several hundred dollars more for such an option.

We can order them in but consider them a special order.
