In commemoration and celebration of the 90th Anniversary of JJ Babbitt (makers of Otto Link), they have released the new "Vintage" series Otto Link tenor saxophone mouthpieces. Designed to "recapture the sound" of earlier vintage Otto Link mouthpieces, the new "Vintage" series Otto Links have a different body shape, bore, chamber, baffle & side rails than standard production Otto Links. Available in both hard rubber and 24k gold plated metal, the new "Vintage" series Otto Link mouthpieces give phenomenal performance and excellent craftsmanship! Each mouthpiece is individually serial numbered and include ligature and cap. In an homage to the Otto Link Hard Rubber models of old, the new hard rubber models boast the "Slant Sig" (Slanted Signature) logo. So how do they play??? These mouthpieces play great! The craftsmanship on the new Vintage series is impeccable. These are not simply a refaced modern link but are a completely different and use a different blank unique to the Vintage series. They play like a great vintage New York Link. They are bigger and richer than the Florida vintage Link (metal) that we compared it to. They have excellent upper register response while maintaining their big & rich tone. We love this piece! We do offer a trial period on new mouthpieces (as long as they are models we normally stock). If you would like to order one of these fantastic new mouthpieces, please give us a call!
Kessler & Sons Music also carries the standard series Otto Link metal mouthpieces for tenor sax. Brand new, we sell them at $135.00 and usually stock sizes 7, 7*, 8 & 8*.
