The Keilwerth SX90R alto
saxophone is a truly amazing horn. Handmade in
Germany using old world craftsman styles, the
SX90R is truly a handmade professional
saxophone. The unique bore and key mechanisms
are found exclusively on Keilwerth saxophones
and offer the player a horn unlike any other.
The bore of the SX90R gives alto players the
largest sound & presence available on any alto
sax. Many players find that the SX90R alto
gives a sound more in line with a tenor sax,
while still maintaining the control and
characteristics unique to an alto sax.
This model is an SX90R
design with the major change of the material
used in the tube (neck, body, bow & bell)
construction. Instead of brass, this model is
made from solid nickel-silver. Nickel-silver
is an alloy comprised of 60% copper, 20%
nickel & 20% zinc (regular brass is 70% copper
and 30% zinc). The name "nickel-silver" is due
to the metal's appearance being lighter in
color than nickel but not quite as light as
silver.
The nickel-silver used on
this design gives the horn a little brighter
sound but also provides a more vibrant
response. Many people find this horn to be
more flexible for jazz, rock & pop style
playing. This is the same material used on the
popular "Shadow" model. However, this finish
is much easier to maintain.

| What does
our Professional Setup do for you the
customer? |
|
No
horn comes into our shop from the
manufacturers in perfect adjustment.
In fact, the longer that the horns
have sat in a storage facility or on a
shops shelves, the more out of
adjustment they typically are. This is
due to the felt and leather in the
pads losing the compression that forms
the "pad seat" causing leaks of air
through the pads.
Our
Professional Setup prior to shipping
is done to ensure that you receive a
sax that plays perfectly right out of
the box. This way you get the superior
performance of the sax without having
to have it "setup" by some other
technician. As a professional shop,
one of the biggest requirements falls
on the repair abilities of the shop.
Ours is one of the best around!
We
have some of the lowest prices in the
country on instruments, no other shop
can give you this price AND this
setup.
