The flute will no longer be a plated
flute. The New Powell Signature Series flute will be a Completely
Sterling Silver flute. This will be one of the best flutes in its

The new Sterling Signature
Models can be distinguished from the older (Rhodium or Silver) plated
versions by the serial number. The new Sterling models will start with
"SIG-" whereas the plated versions did not have any lettering in the
serial numbers.

The Signature Piccolo is made
at the Powell factory in Maynard, MA USA and is the first
piccolo offered by Powell at this price point.
The Signature piccolo shares many specifications in common
with the Powell Custom Piccolo with a few notable
exceptions. Powell Custom Piccolos feature rubber tone hole
bushings which stabilize the wood, in depth analysis and
carving of the tone holes, and a selection of headjoint
styles.
