Why so low? The PFP-165E uses a fantastic synthetic pad known as the OmniPad. These pads give superior performance, stability and durability. However, like most professional synthetic pads, they require a higher level of technical expertise in order to properly install. Pearl (Taiwan) has good technicians, but they were not familiar enough with the OmniPad to install them reliably. Pearl knew that we have the technical ability to properly setup OmniPads. So a deal was made that provided us with a great additional discount on these piccolos with the understanding that we would do all of the shop work to make them perfect! So we professionally set the piccolo up in our shop before we ship it to you to make sure that it is perfect! This is why we can beat everyone's price on these piccolos and they will be setup better than any piccolo out there!

The Pearl piccolo has set the standard for performance of a value piccolo. Offering professional design and manufacturing techniques, the Pearl Grenaditte piccolo outplays piccolos that are much more expensive.

The PFP-165E model uses the same overall design and features as the PFP-105E model but with 2 major improvements:
   - Grenadilla Wood Headjoint with High Wave Embouchure
   - OMNI Synthetic Pads

The Wood headjoint adds much tonal warmth and color bringing it closer in line with a full wood piccolo. However, the body will still offer all of the stability due to the Grenaditte material. The OMNI pads are quite arguably the best piccolo pad that we have encountered. These pads offer significant improvements in length of life, adjustment stability & overall tonal response and performance. These pads are a major upgrade on ANY piccolo, and they are now standard on the new PFP165E model.
