Fortissimo "Padded Tension Ring" Ligature
Incredible! This in one word sums up
what we think about this new ligature. Made in Spain, the new
Fortissimo ligature (or as they call, "Padded Tension Ring") is
a ligature that allows for the most possible vibration from your
reed & mouthpiece.
By limiting the actual contact by the
ligature on your mouthpiece & reed, this ligature frees up the
vibration potential of the your setup. When we tested it for the
first time, we used a Florida Otto Link Metal Alto mouthpiece on
a Selmer Reference 54 Alto Sax. The reed used was basically a
dead reed by all standards. With a standard ligature, the reed
had definitely outlived its usefulness. However, when we used
the exact same setup with the same reed and the new Fortissimo
ligature, we were blown away by the difference. It felt like we
had just put on a brand new reed.
The whole setup was much more free and
vibrant. Absolutely Awesome.
Each Fortissimo Ligature comes with 3
different reed plates that easily come on and off of the
ligature.
