This is an excellent condition Selmer Paris Series 9* professional Bb Clarinet. This clarinet was made in 1962. We have completely repadded this clarinet in our Pro Shop. We are including a 1 year pads & adjustments warranty just as if it were a brand new clarinet. The Series 9* is more akin to modern professional models than the original Series 9 was. The 9* offers undercut tone holes and a smaller bore than the "large bore" Series 9 model. Selmer Paris at the time considered the Series 9* more sutiable as a versatile clarinet with emphasis on Jazz performance while the larger bore Series 9 was more of the traditional classical players clarinet. In the end, many professional players in the USA preferred the quicker responsiveness of the 9*. These are know for their wonderfully rich tone and great response. Many players still to this day play on the Series 9* as their primary professional instrument. This clarinet is made from Grenadilla wood and has never been cracked. The keys are nickel plated and has some wear, but all of the plating is still in tact. S/N S8234 If you have any questions, please give us a call!
