Selmer Paris Super Sax Special! Brand New Reference 54 Kookaburra Std Alto Sax $3,495.00!

The Reference Project was a completely new line of saxophones from Selmer Paris. It was designed to bring back the acoustical properties of vintage Selmer models and fuse them with modern design. First came 2 models of tenor sax. The Reference 54 was designed to have playing characteristics of the Mark VI. The Reference 36 was designed to be closer to the tone style of the Balanced Action.

A few years later, Selmer Paris released the Reference 54 Alto Sax. This sax, "made in the spirit of the Mark VI", quickly became one of the most dominant altos ever made .It has a rich and focused sound reminiscent of the Mark VI, but features modern ergonomics and a flawless mechanism. The Reference 54 is absolutely the most impressive saxophone being made today and guarantees to be one of the best of all time.

Available in only 2 standard finishes. The main finish (model 72) is a dark lacquer like that of an older aged horn. Beautifully hand engraved. The alternate finish (model 72F) is a Vintage Antique finish.

Every Reference 54 alto sax comes standard with a form fitted custom case and a Selmer Super Session D mouthpiece.
