What does our Professional Setup do for you the customer?

No horn comes into our shop from the manufacturers in perfect adjustment. In fact, the longer that the horns have sat in a storage facility or on a shops shelves, the more out of adjustment they typically are. This is due to the felt and leather in the pads loosing the compression that forms the "pad seat" causing leaks of air through the pads. Keep in mind, that the Kookaburra Standard models stopped production in mid 2007 (our horns in stock were all finished in April/May 2007). So many of these horns need a good amount of adjustment prior to shipping before they play properly.

Our Professional Setup prior to shipping is done to ensure that you receive a sax that plays perfectly right out of the box. This way you get the superior performance of the sax without having to have it "setup" by some other technician. As a professional shop, one of the biggest requirements falls on the repair abilities of the shop. Ours is one of the best around!

The Selmer Paris Super 80 Series II alto sax is to this day, one of the best selling professional altos saxes on the market. The Serie II alto produces a very warm and open tone. It is extremely versatile for all styles of music. Using fully ribbed construction, the horn has a robust presence to its sound not found in many other saxophones.

The Series II can also be customized further by a wide array of Selmer Paris OEM necks. We find that many customers also really like the performance of a Serie II body with a Goldbrass Alloy Serie III neck.
