The Selmer 1430 Bass Clarinet has been a
standard in the industry for many years. New for
2011, Selmer has revised the 1430 series with
several bore and construction improvements that
has propelled this bass clarinet into the most
impressive performing student bass clarinet on
the market!
The 1430LP (leather pads) has a new bore that is
more similar to professional styled bores. This
bore produces excellent response in all
registers and a very rich a focused tone
typically not found until you go into the
$5,000+ price range. The new neck angle gives
less resistance allowing for more power and an
improved neck angle for better playing comfort.
The keywork has been greatly improved along with
a new assembly construction method that yields a
much more precisely fit key mechanism than any
bass clarinet near this price range. All posts
are screw lock mounted into the body for
improved mechanical stability. The low Eb
tonehole is now integrated onto the body tube
instead of the bell for improved mechanical
reliability.
Overall, this instrument does not play like a
student bass clarinet but rather closer to the
intermediate range. It is hands down the best
playing bass clarinet in its class!

| What does
our Professional Setup do for you the
customer? |
|
No horn comes into our shop from the
manufacturers in perfect adjustment. In
fact, the longer that the horns have sat
in a storage facility or on a shops
shelves, the more out of adjustment they
typically are. This is due to the felt
and leather in the pads loosing the
compression that forms the "pad seat"
causing leaks of air through the pads.
Our Professional Setup prior to
shipping is done to ensure that you
receive a sax that plays perfectly
right out of the box. This way you
get the superior performance of the
sax without having to have it
"setup" by some other technician. As
a professional shop, one of the
biggest requirements falls on the
repair abilities of the shop. Ours
is one of the best around!
We have some of the lowest prices in
the country on instruments, no other
shop can give you this price AND
this setup.
