Kessler
& Sons Music is a family owned and operated
music store in Las Vegas. We pride ourselves on
offering our customers the best values on the
sax market by tirelessly working with many
manufacturer's and always keeping our eye out
for the "best thing" on the market. We make
sure that the saxophones we offer customers
represent the best value that they can get.
Our Kessler Custom saxophones are
the epitome of this philosophy. By dealing directly with our factory, we are
able to keep strict control over the quality of our saxophones and their design,
as well as eliminate the typical middle-man markup that is associated with many
saxophones on the market today. We sell direct to customers so that we can make
sure that they are getting the best value.
What is a "Performance Model" Saxophone?
"Performance" model is not a term that the
industry officially adopts. This is a phrase that we have come up with to
accurately describe this level of saxophones. What this means is essentially
these horns offer performance characteristics of saxophones 2-3 times their
price, but are designed and planned in such a way as to be able to be offered in
a price that is commonly associated with the "Student" category of saxophones.
What is the difference between Kessler
"Performance" and "Standard" Series Saxophones?
The primary difference (other than price) is in the weight
of the construction. The Performance and Standard models use the exact same bore
design, body tube parts and same key mechanism. The difference is in how the key
posts are attached to the body tube. With the Performance Series, each post is
individually soldered on to the body tube. With the Standard Series, large
groups of posts are first soldered on to a longer piece of brass (also known as
a "rib") and then that larger piece of brass is soldered on to the body tube.
The end result is that the Performance series is lighter in weight, vibrates
extremely easily (great for students) but still produces a full and complex tone
with a slightly brighter sound than the Standard Series.
There are also
other package and cosmetic differences (no engraving on the Performance series,
hard-shell case, different mouthpiece & plastic finger touches) but these
differences do not affect the playing characteristics of the saxophone.
We feel that our
Kessler Custom Performance Series Saxophones offer the customer one
of the best values possible and when compared to renting a
saxophone, the cost of the Performance Series is usually less than 1
year's worth of rent in many areas of the country. Combine this as
well with the fact that our Performance Series offers a more
professional designed bore than that of your typical rental, this
means that your investment will last longer and suit the player's
needs better for a longer period of time.

| What does our Professional Setup do for you
the customer? |
|
No horn comes
into our shop from the manufacturers in perfect adjustment. In fact, the
longer that the horns have sat in a storage facility or on a shops
shelves, the more out of adjustment they typically are. This is due to
the felt and leather in the pads losing the compression that forms the
"pad seat" causing leaks of air through the pads.
Our Professional
Setup prior to shipping is done to ensure that you receive a sax that
plays perfectly right out of the box. This way you get the superior
performance of the sax without having to have it "setup" by some other
technician.
No other shop can give you this price AND this setup.
