Kessler

able to keep strict control over the quality of our saxophones and their design,
as well as eliminate the typical middle-man markup that is associated with many
saxophones on the market today. We sell direct to customers so that we can make
sure that they are getting the best value.
What is the Handmade Series
Our Handmade model saxophones are the hottest
item in our store. These saxophones are completely built by hand by a total of
only 4 people in the factory. These 4 artisan level technicians put countless
more hours into each saxophone ensuring the best build quality with the lowest
amount of stress in the construction. The techniques employed on the Handmade
models' construction produce an instrument that has better vibration, response
and tonal performance.
What level of saxophone is the
Handmade Series
If we are forced to put a label of level on our
Handmade, then it would have to be professional. We usually will shy
away from using the standard industry terms whenever possible because in
reality, there is no such thing as a "professional" saxophone but rather
professional players. Our Handmade model competes favorably up against the
professional saxophones on the market from even the biggest names such as
Yanagisawa, Yamaha, Selmer & Keilwerth. Many players find that the Handmade
models offer a very rich, dark & robust sound that reminds them of the best
American made vintage professional saxophones of old but with the benefit of
modern design to produce great intonation and mechanics.
Why do you make the Handmade Series
out of "Red Brass"
Typically, saxophones are made out of the alloy
called brass. While the exact formulation of brass can vary from vendors and
suppliers, the typical formula is a brass that consists of 70% copper and 30%
zinc. Our Handmade Series are made from "Red Brass" which consists of 85% copper
and 15% zinc. This higher copper content produces a darker and richer tone. It
is also a little stronger metal than standard brass. Cosmetically the Red Brass
looks barely different. On our Handmade models, we only offer them in a lacquer
finish and the Red Brass combined with the Gold Lacquer gives a very warm color
cosmetically to the sax without drastically standing out. However, the 5 hours
of custom hand engraving tends to add a little flash to the look!

Series?
Our Handmade models are also equipped with 3
other distinct improvements not found on the other models in our Kessler Custom
line.

We wanted our Handmade to be completely
set apart from anything else on the market. So we went all out on it. The Pisoni
Pro pads are the best leather pad available on the market today and are the same
pads you will find on the Selmer Paris horns new. These pads are a thinner and
harder pad than typically found on most saxophones in this price range. This
gives you a more reliable pad as little leaks are less likely to develop as well
as a much firmer feel to the mechanism of the sax. We further improve the feel
of our Handmade models by using a very high quality blued needle spring for
excellent key action. Lastly, we include on of our Kessler Custom handmade
professional saxophone mouthpieces with each horn in the Handmade Series.

the most impressive combination of quality,
performance and value on the market today!

No horn comes
into our shop from the manufacturers in perfect adjustment. In fact, the
longer that the horns have sat in a storage facility or on a shops
shelves, the more out of adjustment they typically are. This is due to
the felt and leather in the pads losing the compression that forms the
"pad seat" causing leaks of air through the pads.
Our Professional
Setup prior to shipping is done to ensure that you receive a sax that
plays perfectly right out of the box. This way you get the superior
performance of the sax without having to have it "setup" by some other
technician.
No other shop can give you this price AND this setup.

costs can get pretty high. With our
Kessler Custom saxopohones, we set a
"flat rate" for all orders shipped
inside the continental USA. These
shipments are sent out via UPS Ground,
include insurance and require signature.
