A clarinets are very hard to come by in an affordable price. Since A clarinets are not used by anywhere near the number of players, fewer manufacturers make them and those that do have fewer instruments to divide production costs in to. This means that A clarinets are always more expensive than the equivalent Bb clarinet. This also means that most manufacturers offer fewer model options in A clarinets, many of which are only made out of wood thus driving the price even higher. Affordable A clarinets are something that the clarinet market sorely needs. Sadly, many such clarinets are of too low of a performance caliber to offer players a serious instrument, and those that are of good performance are usually overpriced simply based on name. This has led us to develop our new Kessler Custom A Clarinet. This A clarinet plays extremely well with great resonance, response and intonation. Made from Hard Rubber so as to maintain a warm and "wood-like" tone yet being easier maintenance than wood. We include 2 barrels of a 64mm and 65mm length. We have also bundled this instrument with a great mouthpiece setup. Included is a Vandoren AT45 mouthpiece with a Luyben ligature. The AT45 mouthpiece uses the same design as the popular B45 but is made from a composite material. This gives a very clean, big and full tone. The Luyben ligature offers excellent reed vibration and responsiveness.
